Reviews For Golf Digest Magazine

Golf Digest

This is a great magazine to purchase. Every issue offers tips from professionals on how to improve your game. Also periodically Golf Digest comes out with an issue with the best courses in the country. It is better than other magazines because it has more for all golfers. I especially like the articles where it show people breaking 90, 80, 70. Always a great golf magazine to read. The only possible drawbacks to this magazine are maybe that it only comes out once a month. For most golf fanatics that is not enough but it will have to do for them.

EASY TO READ

The number 1 golf publication is a very informative and easy to read magazine.
Golf Digest has instructions by professionals such as Tiger Woods, David Duval, David Love111, Tom Kite and many other notables. Plus the best instructorsin the country.
Golf Digest previews golf courses and golf equipment, both on the high end and the more affordable level.
For the golfer wether breaking 100-90 or 80 , Golf Digest is a must read. I would recommend it highly.

Golf Tips Galore

I bought this magazine as a gift for my husband. So far he is really enjoying the diverse articles provided in the magazine. My only worry now is how to get him off the course because he wants to try everything suggested. Enjoy!

Does Golf Digest need new blood?

I have been a subscriber to Golf Digest for several years. Like most subscribers, I look forward to getting my monthly fix of golf tips and information. Lately, though, I have found my Golf Digest is not as interesting as it once was.

I like to check out the tips from the playing editors, like Tiger Woods and David Duval. These guys can show me parts of the game that I only dream about! As time goes by, I get more interested in the other articles, like the player profiles, the funny anecdotes from the various columnists, and the previews of the major championships. The last few interviews have not been very interesting. I remember reading an interview with John Daly awhile back that was great. The interview with Sergio Garcia was a little bland. It could be that the personalities of the game have changed, and the interviews have changed with them.

I have looked at the other golf magazines out there, and Golf Digest beats them all, hands down. If you are into the technical parts of the game, and want to have some tips presented to you in a way that is easy to understand, get your subscription today!

Not an improvement tool

Yes, like every other serious golfer out there, I subscribe every year to Golf Digest. It is probably the best golf magazine out there. However, this mag, like the others, won't improve your game. It is enjoyable reading but month to month the basic tips do not change. Basically, it is a forum for teaching pros to recite old teaching methods in their own words. Improving your golf game is much the same as making a lot of money. For the most part, the more effort you put into it, the more you will get out of it. The only "secret" that I know about to improve your golf game quickly is to work on your short game. The best reading that I can recommend for this is the Dave Pelz Short Game Bible.

Digest This

Golf Digest is losing its reign as Americas number one golf magazine. Yes, it is promoted by the great Tiger Woods and Justin Leonard. But as far as making your golf game better, this magazine does hardly anything for you. It has Pocket Tips, which I, a 0 handicapper, have never ever used in my pocket, and with two jobs at Country Clubs, I have never seen them in a golfers hands on the practice tee or on the course. I think they are a complete waste of time. If they are the most important tips, then how can you take out half of the article? Also, Tiger Woods does all of his tips at one time, which makes it seem like he is doing them to get it over with. You can tell this because he wears the same outfit in each article, and is on the same hole, on the same course. Not good. The covers of the magazine are supposed to catch the readers' eye, correct? But the covers on Golf Digest are mostly computerized, with fake grass scenes and bunkers. It just doesn't cut it. Yes, their staff of playing editors is good, but the overall magaizine is overrated.

Goose egg

Golf Digest is an over-rated magazine using whatever criteria you choose. I guess I am old fashioned in believing that not many can learn a sport from a book or magazine. Each issues uses a prominent golfer offering tips on this and that. The fact remains that pros are NOT like the normal golfer and letting the average golfer believe that they can become a low handicapper is an unfair policy. A pro's equipment is custom adjusted in every detail and doesn't resemble the over the counter products sold to Joe "GOLFER." I am tired of the proliferation of golf magazines ..this one in particular that mis-leads on purpose.
