Reviews For Woman's Day Magazine

Sisterhood

As a retired woman I love to read Woman's Day magazine. It keeps me connected to other women of all ages. At my age I can read some of the articles and say, "that's what I did" or "I wish I would have known that when I was raising children". Now, these articles help me confirm or be able to identify with what is happening with my children and our grandchildren. (I can even give them "GrannyClipper" advice,ha!)

I can find wonderful, easy and healthful recipes in Woman's Day Magazine. Unlike Prevention Magazine recipes, the ingredients are easy to find in any market. The ingredients are less expensive and more palatable to my husband's taste and mine too. We find we can eat yummy food and still be healthy using the Woman's Day recipes.

Not only do I get the benefit of learning about all of the great new products in the world from reading Woman's Day, but I then have something to talk about with my friends. We share the ideas, recipes, and coupons. I even give my old magazines to doctor's offices and homes for the elderly, so I connect with other women that way too. I highly recommend Woman's Day Magazine. Women have special needs and it certainly makes my friends, family and my days as a woman happier.

Got to have this magazine!

The first time I picked up a copy of this and read through it, I was instantly hooked. Woman's Day has great articles that involve issues concerning women and family matters. In areas like managing finances, how to organize everything, menus to lose weight, health alerts and lots more. There is a touching story in every issue that makes this a truly special magazine. Some times they will add a little bonus. For example: coupons, name tags during the holidays, calendars, little recipe books during the holidays also and a cologne sample.

I personally enjoy the cake recipes. They are in almost every issue otherwise they make it up by placing in a wonderful dessert recipe. The cakes are so unique and fun to make for different occasions. This adds a final special touch to Woman's Day. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys good reading material and want to increase their knowledge about everyday happenings. The price runs about eighteen dollars for seventeen issues, but to me Woman's Day is worth the money spent.

Make my day with Woman's Day

I look forward to getting my Woman's Day Magazine in my mailbox! It is packed full of good things that make me happy. Easy tips for decorating the house, fashion tips, parenting articles, fast and simple crafts and gifts to make, first person stories, and recipes and coupons.

I like the idea that by subscribing I never miss an issue, and I save a lot of money. Woman's Day and Family Circle go hand in hand, and to relax I sit down with both magazines and enjoy reading them from beginning to end.

I would have to say my favorite part of the magazine are the recipes included in each issue! There are entire menus from beverage to appetizers, main courses, side dishes, and scrumptious deserts! They are easy to follow, precise, and have colorful pictures that make my mouth water! There are also sections of healthy meals, and meals for particular health problems such as low cholesterol, diabetic diets, and heart smart diets! I find this particularly healthy when having guests that need consideration of their diets. I look forward each Christmas to the recipes for holiday meals and deserts.

At Christmas I can count on finding crafts and gifts that are inexpensive and easy to make, and fun to give and get! There are also many decorating tips and decorations to make, and the above mentioned holiday recipes.

As a mother, homemaker, and someone that thinks cooking is fun this is a great magazine for my money! I would recommend it to friends!

An Extremely Ironic Issue For Me!

This month, I was featured in Woman's Day, picture and all. Of course, I was thrilled when they sent me my free issue to scan. But, the most ironic thing happened for me! In the issue was the best article I have ever read on Fibromyalgia. I was recently diagnosed as having this, severely, and I really did not get the information I needed, from the doctor, to truly understand what to expect in the future, or even the present.

This June 20th issue's article on Fibromyalgia was filled with people who have the disease, and what they experience, in easy to understand comments. For me, this is a blessing. Reading this article, I became 'educated' on what I had been going through, and that I wasn't just going insane. I couldn't understand why my eyes could not adjust to my new glasses or my old ones. The article explained how I won't be able to get glasses that will really work. It is part of the disease. No one had told me that. No one had told me it was normal not to be able to move my head, due to severe pain and stiffness. The doctor neglected to mention that stress is the worst thing I can encounter, as it will make all the pain much more severe. I had worried about seeing bright colored spots before my eyes, and getting so dizzy, as they turned hot pink, turquoise, brown/red, and so forth. The article explained that this is common. The doctor had neglected to mention that feeling as if my head were filled with 'fog', forgetting things, was just a symptom. I have a very good doctor, so, I am curious as to how many, many other people became educated about themselves, a friend, a family member, etc..

For a magazine that I believed was, mostly, a great coupon magazine, with a few articles that pertained to me, I was more than a little impressed with the depth the article had to offer. Seriously, it was better than any doctor's report I had been able to find on this particular subject.

I must recommend Woman's Day to everyone! You don't even need to be a woman to learn from it! LOL It is inexpensive, it is checked, again and again, by the editors to make certain that what people say is never misquoted, and it is so enlightening regarding physical ailments that real people are enduring.

If you, or someone you know, has fibromyalgia or facial myalgia (or both, as I do) DO be sure they check out this issue of Woman's Day. You can learn more from that one article than a host of doctors will ever explain to you!

VERY GOOD

I love this magazine. It has some real good articles in it. I love to see all the new recipes and tips in it for cooking and everyday household chores. A just recently saw a picture of a birthday cake on it and it told how to make it. It is the most adorable cake. I am making it for my daughter's birthday. It has some great pictures and ideas.

I love the ideas on the arts and crafts and all the holiday decorating ideas. This is a good magazine to have laying around the house to pick up when you need a time passer-by.

You have to read it once to understand why you have to have it.

The Real Woman's Magazine

I can remember way back when I was reading teen magazines, my mother was reading Woman's Day. I thought it was boring, and for old ladies, but at the time I was also just a teen. As I grew older, I started cooking, and getting into things like make-up and different hair styles, so I started reading issues of my mother's Woman's Day. The same goes for another magazine I did not review that is very similar to this one, so I am just writing the review on one of them.

There are lots of informative articles, and true life stories that will warm your heart and bring tears to your eyes. This magazine covers a wide variety of interesting subjects, many great recipes, tips on nail care, hair care, home remedies, you name it, they have probably covered it. I especially like the articles they have had in past issues on dieting and low calorie recipes. I now subscribe to the magazine myself, it still costs only about 98 cents in most stores, so you get a real value for your money, and even more savings if you subscribe to it.

If you like women's magazines, and reading about self help, cleaning tips, or just need a great new recipe that you can prepare in a short time, then you will love this magazine. It is one of the oldest and most read women's magazines I have found, I read it every month. It is like a bible to me! Definitely good reading can be found in this, and also in the very similar Family Circle.

total value

I think this is one of the best values on any magazine rack. The price is very reasonable, there are beautiful and affordable decorating ideas, fast, inexpensive and healthy recipes and interesting articles on every subject you can think of. The information in this magazine caters to the everyday American woman, the one trying to make ends meet, take care of a home, a husband, a family and a job all at once, who needs all the help she can get. I constantly find new hints for cleaning, laundry, cooking, sewing, crafts and so many other areas. Another thing I particularly like about this magazine is it's upbeat attitude. You'll find the good news here that is so often ignored elsewhere; stories of people who go out of their way to help a neighbor or even a stranger, articles about the everyday heroes who usually go unnoticed. It even has a great web site! This and the Family Circle are the only two magazines I buy on a regular basis.

Woman's Day - Great!

I used to buy this magazine in the store all the time for recipes and ideas for different holidays. I finally broke down and got a subscription because I was finding it sold out when I wanted a particular issue.
One of the best things about this magazine is that it caters to working women as well as homemakers(I don't mean that homemakers don't work, I mean outside the home jobs). Believe me, working 2 jobs, plus making sure my husband and children have a HOME is not easy. This magazine gives me tips on meals, housekeeping, career issues, clothes, holiday menus, decorations, and making a house a home, affordably, and with not a lot of time involved. And time is of the essence - especially now with the holidays. And, it gives me hints on how to do it all, and still have some special ALONE time for myself.
One article I liked in particular was how to keep holiday stress at a minimum, while still decorating, shopping, wrapping, baking, planning dinner, sending cards, etc. Plus, working outside the home at least 48 hours a week. Stress like that can really put a hurting on holiday cheer!
After I read that article, I started doing some of the things it suggested. Like, picking a time for baking, and doing it with the kids so that we have quality time together, and FUN! And some of the cookie recipes were simple enough that the kids could do them with a minimum of my help(Look what I made!).
The holiday issues are the best, but all of them are timely(spring cleaning hints, organizing your closet, planning your seasonal wardrobe).
I recommend that you pick up an issue and see for yourself. Or, Family Circle is as good, also. I usually get both of them to read at the same time. And I can do it while eating lunch at work.

I love this magazine!

I really need to get a subscription to "Woman's Day," since I buy it every month at the grocery store. I have learned a great deal from this magazine, everything from little tips on cleaning the house to keeping things organized (meals, chores, etc.). This information has been a great help to me, since I live in a very small apartment. I love the recipes, especially since I'm still fairly new to cooking... I used to eat out all the time (college student!) but "Woman's Day" has taught me that cooking my own meals can be just as quick as eating out (and definitely less expensive!). I'm engaged to be married, and I'm planning to continue reading "Woman's Day" well into my married years. The articles I read and the tips they provide are invaluable to me. This magazine is fantastic!
